Elise Girard

Elise Girard is a French film director based in Paris. Cinephile and passionate about art house films, her first two features were documentaries on iconic cinemas of the French capital (Action and Saint-André des Arts): Seuls sont les indomptés, l’aventure des cinémas Action (2003) and Roger Diamantis ou la vraie vie (2005). Her first fiction feature film, Belleville Tokyo (2010), was acclaimed by the public and critics; her most recent work Strange Birds (2016), is on the upcoming Berlinale Film Festival selection.
In development, Elise has two new film projects: Famille, je vous aime, a family comedy, and Sidonie au Japon, a drama selected for the Hors Les murs Louis Lumière, artistic residence based in Japan.
